Many artists believe horses, along with hands and bicycles, are one of the hardest subjects to draw.
I have good news: horses aren’t complicated to draw when you break them down by shape.
They’re basically a bean with some sticks and triangles attached.
When you add a tail to all those shapes and put them together, they communicate “this is a horse.”
More good news: all horse drawings are good horse drawings.
Even if they don’t communicate, “this is a horse,” they're still a success. Showing up to sketch a challenging subject that's WAY out of our comfort zones is always a win. That’s where the good stuff happens!
