My intention: I want to paint for at least 30 minutes every day!

Great challenge! And it’s come at the perfect time. I will use the 30 mins to make simple ink drawings every day.

Hooray! When I think of drawing with ink, I think of that wonderful tiger you drew and the Naomi session you did with the big brush. They're phenomenal!

Thank you Beth! That’s exactly what i’d like to focus on for October. A sort of ‘light’ Inktober, but ignoring all the prompts 🤣 This challenge actually fits that so perfectly!

YES! Prompts are so hard with the extra pressure of posting. No posting required for our challenge. 😄 I do love ignoring prompts! Or drawing Richard Simmons for the word “sparkle.” ✨

yeayyyyyyy prompts are like rules, made to be ignored 🤣 Can’t wait to see what you create, with your fresh visual style that’s emerging!

Thank you sooo much! It’s been so nice to let myself drift naturally to one or two materials to draw. I loved your meetup the other day for reflecting on it! Oooh and thought of a topic you could explore in a future round-table discussion. I’ll DM you!

I’m going to leave it very loose and say I want to be creative for at least 30 minutes each day but I do love the motivation of a challenge to set aside the time!

This is AWESOME, Andrea! Just following your own curiosity and creative intuition for 30 days is brilliant! No limits and no posting required. Can't wait to catch up and hear about how you spend your it!

Hey, no one is going to be tracking your time or anything like that. If you sneak in 10 minutes of being creative to replace 10 minutes of scrolling, then you win.

I'd love to just doodle on a page and see what comes out (and maybe for more like 15mins—30 is a dream, but not always possible!)

Absolutely, Sophie! What a wonderful gift to give yourself the space to doodle and be present for fifteen minutes. I love it!

I've done this (almost) every day for a few months now and I can tell you, it is the absolute best! My partner watches the news every day at 20:00 and we now have the agreement that he watches it and I don't (because I sometimes can't sleep afterwards), he keeps me up to date with the important news and I have 30 minutes a day just for me. Most of the times I draw, sometimes I do some yoga. And sometimes my kid can't sleep and then it all goes to pieces 😅

But at least having the intention to do this everyday has given so much more headspace!

This is so great to hear, Pauline! I love how your partner supports you through keeping you up to date and giving you that important time. I feel like longer we keep it going, the less it matters if it all goes to pieces one or two days. It happens to the best of us haha!

And yoga is the best!

This is an excellent idea, I'm in! I will play 15min in my sketchbook and the other 15 minutes do physical exercise 💪😊

I love this! I want to nature journal everyday in October. So yeah, my intention for the 30 min will be to draw in my nature journal :-)

Oh lovely, Rashmi! That's a brilliant idea. I can't wait to hear how awesome you feel after spending more time observing and sketching in nature for 30 minutes a day in October!

I’m definitely participating !! I’m going to finally swatch my new watercolor tubes and make some seasonal palettes. Time spent actually creating autumnal colors and experimenting rather than just reading about it on my phone. Taking back thirty minutes a day to inspire, experiment and develop a good habit will truly be a gift.

What a magical intention for transitioning into fall! The video I'm sending you in Friday's post could give you some ideas for fun fall-color experimentation. I can truly say it's been my favorite video I've made all year. I can't wait to finish up and send it! 😬

My intention is to spend 30 minutes playing in my sketchbook each day. I really appreciate an October challenge that is offline. Thank you, Beth!

I plan to paint a small gift for a family member each day - not taking too much time to think, but personalizing it for each person. I might save these for holiday gifts this year.

Ohh I love this!! I've been thinking a lot about time for offline/screen-free activities, this ill give me the structure and motivation I need to make it a daily practice.

I'm going to use the 30 minutes to work on my travel and reading journals. I will be traveling for a bit and I don't know if I'll be able to do it while on the road, but I will try! And I definitely do it while I'm home. :D

I'm glad you're joining! And relieved that I'm not the only one who finds it more difficult to unplug when traveling. It's almost like my phone is a security blanket or something!

Most definitely! I try to leave it on my pocket as much as I can, and with the years I've learned to live more in the moment and document less. But! I still take a lot of pictures and videos to share with family & friends.

And few things feel more relaxing than disconnecting my brain by mindlessly scrolling for a bit after a day of adventures, when my back and feet hurt from all the walking 😂

I’ve been struggling to find a good rhythm for writing this year, so I’m going to use these thirty minutes to try to get back to a daily writing habit.

I love doodling - sometimes it sparks ideas but I always think it’s time wasting, ending up doing scribbles while I’m doing things on the phone! So I’m gonna to doodle for 30mins !

I have just joined this group and this is a great way to start. I’m going to keep it a bit open - either paint, weave or do a bit of light pruning or weeding in my garden. Depends a lot on the weather.
