Let’s talk about reflection and habit-building!
In a perfect world, I’d fill my bowl with broccoli instead of ice cream, devouring it while reading Shakespeare instead of scrolling Instagram. If only it were that easy.
Here’s a list of my past and present weaknesses and how I’ve overcome or managed them.
Smoking - never really liked it.
Chewing fingernails - keep hands occupied.
Excessive email checking - mindfulness, phone hiding, awareness, and accountability
Knuckle cracking - still do it.
Procrastinating - do it, love it, and have fun doing it.
Negative self-talk - practicing mindfulness through meditation, walks without headphones, and yoga.
Overindulgence in social media, ice cream, art supplies, alcohol, and reality TV shows about people looking for love. - no comment.
Why am I telling you about my bad habits?
I know how hard it is to build a new habit and feel the weight of “bad” ones. I see you.
It’s only a bad habit if it’s holding you back. They’re all behaviors that give you information so you can grow.
