+ This might be too depressing, but possibly a session on extinct animals, including the Tasmanian Devil, the Dodo, the Passenger Pigeon, the golden frog, the Pinta Giant Tortoise (aka: Lonesome George), etc.
YES yes YES! I've just spent a week going down a rabbit hole with drawing squirrels and before that Meadowlarks that have returned to the bayside park I visit regularly and before that badgers and bears. I'm really excited to join you in drawing animals this year! I'm happy with whatever animals you choose to celebrate with sketching. I've got posts in the works for all of these but can't stop drawing to get them posted!
Oh I am so on board with a month of those and include rats and mice! ❤️🐁 I MUST show you the sketch for a greeting card design of hamsters in a rock band! It is so bad but still cute and kind of hilarious. 😆
Yay, I love drawing animals!
We need more tortoises and other reptiles as a society 🙏
Hooray! Snakes are fun and you know I love drawing anything in a shell! <3
I think badgers are a good place to start with animal pictures they’re all sorts of expressive.
Oh I love this suggestion. Would you believe I've never drawn a badger? This must change!
And this will make me join introvert drawing club in 2026! 🤭
I always love seeing your wonderful work pop up in my feed. It'll be so fun to draw with you, Gunja! 👯♀️
Love the gorillas, orangutans and such!
Yes, Leigh! 👏 I am most certain we'll spend a month on great apes, and maybe one with smaller primates too!
🤩
And dogs and cats! :)
Antelope, especially wildebeest and blackbuck. These look like mythological creatures to me, yet are real!
Love these suggestions, Kim, and thank you! Definitely need a month for hoofed animals. <3
It will be the Year of the Horse so I'm eager to try and draw those.
Yesss! Can't wait for horses, Jane! 🐎
Alligators and crocodiles are fun to draw. And the not so cuddly like porcupines and frogs.
Hi Beth! I would draw any animal but I do have a particular soft spot for panda bears!
I love this idea! Here are some of my favorite animals for your consideration:
+ Burrowing owls: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Burrowing_Owl/overview
+ Red pandas: https://nationalzoo.si.edu/animals/red-panda
+ Flying squirrels, or squirrels in general, because they are HILARIOUS!
+ Frogs and other amphibians! So many cool shapes and colors!
+ Animals with naughty names: https://www.discoverwildlife.com/animal-facts/rude-animals
+ Birds of paradise: https://www.birdsofparadiseproject.org/genera/
+ Famous animals from books, TV, and film.
+ This might be too depressing, but possibly a session on extinct animals, including the Tasmanian Devil, the Dodo, the Passenger Pigeon, the golden frog, the Pinta Giant Tortoise (aka: Lonesome George), etc.
Giraffes
Best news ever. Love this! Elephants 🤍
Oooh elephants’ textures and shapes are exciting!!! ❤️🐘

Yaaay! Me too! ❤️🐢🥳
