I love drawing the natural world: landscapes, animals, mountains, flowers, all of it. But lately I love doodling coffee mugs βοΈ and western things π
Lately my favorite art supplies are oil pastels, watercolors, and brush pens.
I'm in Bellingham, Washington. I love meeting up with the Bellingham Urban Sketchers (even though I find it intimidating), and I love drawing trees (either from life or from photographs). My favorite media are pencil, pen, and watercolors, and I'm lately becoming more interested in watercolor crayons. π
Herndon, Virginia, USA (technically a suburb of Washington, DC). I like drawing interesting buildings and diary comics. I like to draw in ink and then color with watercolor crayons (I guess technically they're Caran d'Ache Neocolor II Aquarelle Luminous Water-Soluble Pastels but whatever - they're crayons).
I have drawn with the local Urban Sketchers group but they always meet in DC proper and sometimes I'm just not in the mood to travel over an hour each way for a sketch outing.
I'm a surface pattern designer and I have three genres I love to play in the most.
One being beautiful abstract watercolor floral patterns and then two being fun, whimsical aliens/youth patterns. Third, I love to play around with abstract texture paintings.
Supplies I use are pencils, waterproof pens, watercolor and acrylics.
I'm really starting to get into art journaling too so I can be creative without "having a project", if that makes sense?
Would love to connect and have creative friendsβ€οΈ
I like to doodle wobbly stars and (also) wobbly snakes that are very anatomically inaccurate. My favorite art supply is my trusted pentel caplet mechanical pencil that I had for years now with 2b pencil lead. It's so simple and easy!
Iβm in Port Angeles, WA and I like drawing animals, people (not so good at that), and just starting to do landscapes. I like to make zines about my life and share them with family. My style is more on the cartoon side than realistic style. I pretty much use digital media only - I have two crazy Beagles and they would eat any art supplies.
Thank you Beth - this is so great - art friends are the BEST. I have a small, local group that I sketch and paint with - would love others to join. And/or i'd be game for a NYC or anywhere-ish outings. I mostly paint - with watercolor and gouache. I have a thing for anything vintage. And good coffeeshops, park benches, old houses and buildings. Libraries too.

I've heard awesome things about Kansas City! Like there are lots of fountains. Is it true?

Iβve just started drawing trees. So complex! Iβm in Port Angeles, WA, so lots of trees around here.
Port Angeles is so wonderful!
Bellingham has lots of wonderful trees, too. My favorite tree in Bellingham is at such a busy intersection that I've never been able to draw it. π€
I'm in Charlottesville, Virginia. :) I would love some plein air/drawing meetup/material swap friends!
There is a Charlottesville Urban Sketchers chapter on Facebook, though I don't know how often they meet. Great town for sketching!

Would love to hear if anyone has advice for setting up a dedicated art workspace in a small apartment!
