I’m quite pooped, and swimming in deadlines, I’ll be out of a couple by the end of this week and should feel better!

I am learning from my work to stick to the process! Looks like a fun week ahead!

You got this! Your newsletter has helped me remember that just sitting down and doing the work is so important. I have to cut out some play time and social media scrolling, but they'll all be there when I get past this phase!

I started the 100-day art project on Thursday 🥰 so excited for it. Yes, it’s the last 100 days of 20233! Time flies. I’ve wanted to learn to draw, so I want to finish the year strong. My goal is a minimum of 5 minutes if I’m time-pressed.

How exciting! ✏️✨ Do you have a certain time of day blocked off to practice? Or a small sketchbook to take everywhere? That really helps. I love waiting at the grocery store or vet's office because I can just draw everything around me quickly. You do so much in 5 minutes!

In the mornings 😃 before I switch on my phone! But I did buy a small sketchbook and put it in my bag, in case I don’t have time in the morning so that I can still practice on the way and not feel bad all day. Thanks so much for the motivation. I thought as a beginner, even if I practised drawing lines and circles for 5 minutes, it would still be useful

Going to catch up on Draw Brighton’s Mucha session tomorrow evening, and hopefully join Sarah van Dongens on Wednesday. Joining Emma Carlisle’s sketchbook share (but probably too shy to actually share myself 😅) on Thursday. And hosting a Zoom myself (theme is Harvest - botanical and animal illustration) this Thursday at 8pm CEST (also shy but also fun) :-)

Botanical and animal sounds so lovely! I added it to the list and linked to your lovely Patreon!

I did Emma's sketchbook share last time and it was lovely! I'm always shy about sharing in other people's Zooms for some reason. But the folks in the session were so lovely and it was so cool seeing everyone's work and chatting. I highly recommend sharing if you can! I know everyone will love to see your beautiful art. I certainly would! I'd love to wake up early enough to join, but if not, hope to see you in the replay! 🌻✨

Oh thanks so much for adding it to the list ❤️

I’ll be sure to share your sessions too, already looking forward to the one about foxes and rabbits!

And I saw the replay of the previous sketchbook share, it was so lovely. Maybe I can muster the courage, I’m the biggest introvert (which is why I love your substack and sessions 😊) and sharing in groups is always a hurdle to get over. But it might be good, we’ll see 😇

I draw whenever I find small pockets of time! So I carry my sketchbook and a couple of pens wherever I go. I do wish I had a more concrete idea of where my art practice is taking me. I want to reflect and comprehend my practice better. But right now, I'm just all over the place and drawing snippets here and there! 😊 I drew with you last week and that was fun.

Rashmi, that's wonderful! Giving yourself time to practice and learn is the most wonderful gift you can give yourself. I believe that's what trusting the process is all about! 👏 Being all over the place and just drawing here and there is all part of the journey. All those snippets will add up, then you can reflect! Cheers to you, Rashmi. You're doing great!

Thank you so much, Beth! I'm glad you said that. I've been feeling so confused and wondering what the point is of all this drawing if it isn't leading me anywhere. I suppose it isn't time yet, to know where 😄
