I’ve started a Substack. I don’t have any subscribers and am not sure where this is going, but I love to write and have a lot of opinions to thrust upon yet another platform.
As an early adopter of social media, (I’m talking Friendster, Livejournal, etc.) I’m not ready to cut the cord. But I do not see the returns from the time I’m investing in Instagram, so posting daily seems like a wasted effort.
Instagram feels like the beeper that’s sitting in my junk drawer, and email marketing is a shiny new iPhone.
I’ll never throw that pager away, especially after saving up all those Mountain Dew bar codes to get it. But I’m ready to spend using technology that connects me with folks who want to see my work.
Who knows what I’ll end up posting here. If I never get a single subscriber and this ends up being my own personal ranting space, that’s okay.
