right out of every comfort zone ... ( I don' t mind rats, snails ,even spiders ...well , but you found my weak spot. maybe I' ll obercome some traumas this month ... let' s go.!!!!)
Exactly! I remember getting so mad at my granddad for putting poison on the ant hills when I was a kid. It’s so cruel. I remember asking “why don’t you just not step on them?” Easy fix, right?
excited for this! i had planned insects to draw in july! your sessions sound amazing though so perhaps I'll get my fix through you instead and skip mine for later in the year! x
Oh gosh, I had no idea! I'm pausing in July so that'd be fun to get a whole extra month in yours! Kinda wishing I was doing a whole month of moths after this first reference.
That’s a brilliant idea to use the desk calendar, Jen! I made a grid and drew yesterday’s reference in it, had a great time. Then I drew the moth bigger and got very fussy with my lines!
So, it’s gonna be a grid for me too. I can’t wait to see our grids all filled up with fun creatures! <3 And if we miss a day, it’s not a big deal because it’s a small drawing and that’ll be easy to catch up.
Fave arthropod: roly poly. Fave insect: cricket!
Ooooh I am very excited for this theme
Yaaay! Me too! Do you think you’ll make a plan and try to draw them all, or take it one day at a time? :)
Tbf I haven't really figured out how substack and your subscription work so I will have to find the options. I would love to try and follow them all
So excited!
Hooray! Which ones are your favorite insects? 🐜
I love the shiny ones hahaha. Dragonflies, beetles. Butterflies too. But i love them all except cockroaches hahha
I love those too! I don’t think I’ll include cockroaches or spiders this month, but everything else is fair game. ;)
I do like spiders too though!
But they are technically not insects so it’s fine!

I’m so inspired by your bravery, Chris! P.S. Did you catch the first part of our Dog people replay? Check it out when you have a moment! https://www.introvertdrawingclub.com/p/dog-people-drawing-session?r=yx03w
can ' t wait! 😊
Oh, great choice. In these days full of pesticides and pfas we have to support them as much as we can❤️

Fantastic! The plants are full of beautiful insects nowadays.
I’m very excited to have a focus. Bring on the bugs!!

I remember the story about the spider on Eden's arm... I would have jumped right out of my skin!

Oh how fun! I’d love to see some of your bug prints! 💞
Yay! Exciting 🙌🏻
Love the theme! Insects are actually one of 4 categories in anthropods, my favs are: European stag beetle and the Garden tiger moth ❤️
Oh my goodness, I gotta find some of these Garden tiger moths to draw! <3
Yay. what a good choice! So good to see these 'creeptures' on paper.
Ladybirds 🐞, blue butterflies 🦋 and snails 🐌 ( are we allowed snails ? 🐌 )
Oh yes, snails are fantastic! <3
Oooh, I like your suggestion of making a grid and drawing small. I think I may use my desk calendar for this month's reference photos!
