Why are we drawing Grandmas?
Theyโre fun to practice.
You can imagine the quirky stories they might tell.
So much of our creative journey is about turning inward and understanding who we are. For better or worse, grandmothers shape who we are as people and artists.
If nothing else, it's always good to sit down and practice drawing from observation! That's the path to developing your style and making art more enjoyable. If you missed our session, you can draw along in the replay below. Itโs delightful!

Tips for drawing advanced-age people
Focus on their shape and put that down first - hair, body, posture.
Set a timer.
Plan to draw a few of them, so you're not feeling pressured to make one drawing that's THE drawing.
โค๏ธ I know some of us have challenging relationships, are suffering from loss, or never having known a grandmother. If you struggle with any of this, my heart is with you.
