Don't Listen to Your Brain
Just draw what's in front of your face, not what the mushy thing behind it is telling you to draw.
Your left brain sabotages so many potential masterpieces. It's always judging your line work instead of trusting your skill and all the hours of practice you've clocked.
Check in with yourself and tell the brain to hush up!
It's the best illustration advice. When I stopped letting my brain decide a drawing was good before it was finished, the process became more satisfying than I could ever imagine.
Mindfulness or meditation are helpful, along with a journal practice and limiting time spent looking at other people's work.
