The mention of "Zen Seeing, Zen Drawing" alongside "The Power of Now" and "A New Earth" is a quietly interesting set of reading companions for this kind of pause. Frederick Franck's book in particular makes an argument that drawing slowly is itself a form of attention practice rather than a skill-building exercise, which feels like it fits the spirit of this community. The idea of a deep focus month to finish the first four chapters sounds like the right move. Looking forward to hearing how it went when you return in May.

I love that you made this connection to these three books, David! I listened The Power of Now on audiobook a few years ago and felt like now is the perfect time to revisit it. Isn’t it so comforting to know that this moment is all we need to deal with? Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful observations!
