Animal characters, colored pencils, and people
No thought-provoking newsletter this go-round. May I offer ramblings about recent work and things I'm excited about?
I drew my adorable nephews and second cousin!
I organized my Neocolors and colored pencils! I used affordable household items from Target and The Container store. It's been a game changer. Stay tuned to find out if they stay in order.
I drew a portrait of my grandparents’ wedding photo and gave it to them framed and all pretty-like.
Eric and I discovered Sean’s tail always floats to the right to help him balance. This took 10 years to learn.
I started the #30PaletteProject by
. I love the challenge of using color combinations chosen at random. I’m attempting to only use what I have, although I do predict a trip to Art Center soon.I got a membership to the zoo! I love practicing drawing pandas, lions, and meerkats the most. I've visited six times since joining last month. I can't wait to go back!
Anthropomorphic animal characters is in full swing on my Patreon! So far I've filmed myself making bad drawings of rhinos. I’ve filmed myself turning a cat in pajamas into an animated gif sticker. And loosened up with dogs dressed for a casual tea party. I also have a Zoo Animal Drawing Session replay available to get the creative wheels turning.
There's lots more to come, including two live sessions where we’ll draw and explore ideas. If ever there was a month to join, this is the one. You can always dip down to the $2 tier for a break or cancel anytime.
It'll be all right with me if 2023 is a lot like last year, but with more leaving the house to draw and less overthinking.
