πŸ’¬ Let’s talk!

Who were your favorite animal characters growing up?

Which animals are you interested in drawing doing human things this month?

Have you drawn animal characters before? Tell us about it!

- I really loved Yogi Bear, Fievel Mousekewitz, and Kermit the frog!

- I'm interested in drawing smaller animals, like birds, squirrels and mice, but I find them challenging so I tend to stay in my cat/dog comfort zone.

-I feel like drawing animal characters is helps keep me playful and is a little sneaky way to practice humans without worrying about capturing a likeness. :)

I was crazy for whales and dolphins. And dogs ,of course. But Maybe I’ ll think about my Winter postcards and draw reindeer ,ice bears and foxes, and little robins?

( Heat wave is still hitting strong over Europe)

I don't know if I've ever drawn animal characters before which is odd because I have so many favorites, including Kermit!

When I was a kid there was an animated show Top Cat. I loved all of the cat characters! And Flipper the dolphin was a favorite too.

Aaah Top Cat! Anything Hanna-Barbara was absolute gold in my house. And Flipper had the best theme song!

Favorites were Cleo, the Bassett hound and Mr. Ed on TV. Any critters from Beatrix Potter.

I'm interested in doing birds, mice, squirrels in my garden. More of my dogs, too.

This is going to be fun and challenging! I love the yearbook idea! I used to love drawing all kinds of animals when I was a kid, then kind of fell out of it and mostly drew flowers, but this past year I've really gotten into drawing birds and animals.

I’ve been on a little travel break and drawing lots of buildings and daily life stuff so I am very happy to return to something so fun and different. I was absolutely obsessed with Beatrix Potter books when I was a kid. Their tiny little coats and dresses just felt so dreamy and magical to me and would always stir my imagination. Looking forward to dipping into that sense of wonder again this month.

As a grown up, Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr Fox 🦊

Beatrix Potter, Alice in Wonderland, and later on Cats Don’t Dance which is a wholly underrated and unfairly forgotten movie that I love.

I must find this Cats Don’t Dance movie stat!

It’s a gem. Star-studded cast, some amazing cameos and gags/references, great music…people really should know about it!

Yes! I digitally illustrated two children’s yoga stories, where all six characters are animals! Very tricky to get correct yoga posture, whilst retaining animal anatomy, child like emotions and cuteness factor πŸ˜‚ We decided not to have them wearing clothes due to the nature of the books, but willing to have a go for this months theme!
